Remove objects from photos on iPhone without an app
No App Store download needed: open the eraser in Safari on iPhone or iPad. The one thing to know is format — iPhone saves HEIC by default and the eraser can't decode HEIC. When you pick a photo through Safari's file picker, iOS typically converts it to JPEG automatically; if you get an error, switch Camera format to Most Compatible or export the photo as JPEG first.

Open the free eraser →How to do it
- Open the eraser in Safari and tap to choose a photo from your library.
- If it won't load, go to Settings → Camera → Formats → Most Compatible for future shots, or share the photo as JPEG first.
- Tap an object with click-to-select, or paint over it with your finger.
- Tap Erase and compare with the slider.
- Download, then save the image to Photos from the share sheet.
Tips for a cleaner result
- Pinch-zoom before brushing small objects for more precision.
- Newer iPhones on recent iOS versions may use WebGPU; others use the WASM path, which is slower but works.
- After the first erase the model is cached, so later sessions load faster.
FAQ
Does it work on iPad?
Yes, in Safari or any iPadOS browser. The same HEIC note applies.
Is this the same as Apple's Clean Up?
No, it's a separate web tool. It works on older iPhones too and never uploads your photo.
