About MagicPhotoEraser
A free, fully private photo object eraser that runs entirely in your browser — because removing something from a photo shouldn't mean uploading it to a stranger's server.
Why this exists
Everyone needs to remove something from a photo eventually — a photobomber, an ex, a trash can in an otherwise perfect shot, a date stamp, a logo, or a license plate and ID number before sharing something publicly.
The tools that do this today almost all work the same way: you upload your photo to their server, their GPU does the work, and they send it back. That means your private picture — which might be a medical scan, your kid, your passport, or something you just don't want sitting on someone else's computer — leaves your device. And because those servers cost money to run, the genuinely sharp, full-resolution result is almost always paywalled or watermarked.
MagicPhotoEraser takes the opposite approach. The AI model that erases your object runs entirely inside your browser, on your own hardware. Your photo is never uploaded, never stored, never seen by us or anyone else. And because we don't pay a server bill for each erase, we can give the whole thing away — full resolution, no watermark, no signup — and keep it that way.
The principles
Your photos never leave your device
Not as a promise — as an architecture. The AI runs in your browser, so there's no server that could see your image even if we wanted it to.
Free forever, no asterisk
No Pro tier, no credits, no watermark, no account. Running on your device costs us nothing per erase, so there's nothing to charge for.
One job, done well
Remove objects from photos. Not a 200-tool editor you have to learn. Open it, brush, erase, done.
Keep your photo sharp
We only reprocess the part you brushed and drop it back into your full-resolution original — so HD photos stay HD.
What MagicPhotoEraser is not
- Not a cloud service. There's no backend, no account, and no database. If a feature can't run on your device, it's out of scope.
- Not a general photo editor. No filters, layers, crop, or text tools — those dilute the one thing this does well.
- Not ad-supported inside the tool. The eraser itself is never gated or interrupted. Any ads live only on info pages like this one.
- Not a data business. We can't sell or analyze your photos because we never receive them.
Who built it
MagicPhotoEraser is an independent project built by a solo developer who ships small, fast, private web tools that run without a server. It's part of a family of browser-native apps built around one idea: your data should stay on your device.
The whole thing is open source on GitHub — you can read exactly what runs on your photos, file an issue, or just confirm for yourself that nothing gets uploaded.
Try it yourself
Open a photo, brush over what you want gone, and watch it disappear — all without anything leaving your browser.
