Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 15, 2026
The short version: MagicPhotoEraser edits your photos entirely inside your own browser. Your images are never uploaded to us or anyone else — there is no server that receives them. We don't have accounts, we don't store your photos, and we can't see what you erase. This page explains the little data that is involved anyway (basic, privacy-respecting analytics and, possibly, ads on info pages).
1. Who we are
MagicPhotoEraser ("we", "us", "the site") operates the website at
magicphotoeraser.com, a free, browser-based tool for removing
objects from photos. For any privacy question, contact us at
hello@magicphotoeraser.com. We are
the data controller for the limited information described below.
2. Your photos are processed locally and never uploaded
This is the core of how the tool works, so it comes first. When you open a photo in MagicPhotoEraser:
- The image is loaded and processed entirely within your browser, on your own device.
- The AI model that erases objects runs locally (via WebGPU or WebAssembly). It is downloaded to your device and runs there.
- Your photo is never transmitted to our servers, a third party, or any cloud service. There is no upload step.
- We do not receive, store, log, or have any ability to view the images you edit.
- When you close or refresh the tab, the image is gone from memory. We keep no copy because we never had one.
You can verify this yourself: open your browser's developer tools, switch to the Network tab, and erase something. You will see no outbound request carrying your image data.
3. Information we do collect
Because there are no accounts and no uploads, the data we touch is minimal:
a. Analytics
We may use a privacy-respecting analytics tool (such as Google Analytics 4) to understand aggregate, anonymous usage — for example, how many people visited a page, which country region they're in (approximate), and which browser they use. This helps us improve the site. This data is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally, and it never includes your photos. Analytics is only active in production and may be disabled entirely.
b. Server logs
The site is served as static files by our hosting provider (Cloudflare Pages). Like virtually all websites, the host may process standard technical request data (such as IP address and user-agent) to deliver pages and protect against abuse. We do not control or retain these logs beyond what the host provides.
c. Local storage on your device
To make the tool fast and able to work offline, your browser may cache the downloaded AI model and your preferences on your own device (using the Cache API, IndexedDB, or localStorage). This data stays on your device, is not sent to us, and you can clear it anytime via your browser settings.
4. Cookies and advertising
The tool itself does not require cookies to function. We may serve advertisements on informational pages (such as this one, the FAQ, or the blog) to help keep MagicPhotoEraser free. We never place ads inside or interrupt the eraser.
If we use a third-party ad network such as Google AdSense, that network may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads. Third parties, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this and/or other sites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, and review options at aboutads.info/choices. Where required by law, ads will be served in a non-personalized mode or subject to a consent prompt.
5. How we use information
We use the limited data above only to:
- Operate, maintain, and improve the website;
- Understand aggregate usage trends;
- Keep the site secure and prevent abuse;
- Display advertising on informational pages (if enabled).
We do not sell your personal information.
6. Your rights (GDPR, CCPA, and others)
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data, including the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict its processing, and the right to object to processing or data portability. Under the CCPA, California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected and to opt out of its sale (we do not sell personal information).
Because we don't hold accounts or your photos, in most cases we simply have no personal data tied to you. For anything analytics- or host-related, or to exercise any right, email hello@magicphotoeraser.com and we will respond as required by applicable law.
7. Children's privacy
MagicPhotoEraser is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Since the tool requires no account and collects no photos, there is no personal data for a child to provide.
8. Data retention and security
We retain the minimal analytics data only as long as needed for the purposes above. Because your photos are never uploaded, there is no image data for us to retain or secure. The site is served over HTTPS.
9. Third-party services
We rely on a small number of third parties to operate: our hosting provider (Cloudflare Pages), and optionally an analytics provider (Google Analytics) and an ad network (Google AdSense). Each has its own privacy policy governing the data they process.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
