Remove text, captions and date stamps from an image
Old camera date stamps, captions burned into screenshots, a name on a whiteboard, or a price sticker on a product — text is thin and high-contrast, so it only needs a narrow mask. Paint over the letters and the model fills them in with the surrounding texture.

- Open the image in the eraser.
- Pick a brush a little wider than the letter height and paint over the text line.
- Erase. For multiple lines of text, do them one block at a time.
- Brush over any faint ghost letters that remain and erase again.
- Download the result.
Tips for a cleaner result
- Text on flat colour, sky or smooth gradients vanishes cleanly; text over faces or fine patterns is harder.
- Include the anti-aliased halo around letters in your mask or you'll see a faint outline.
- This is a removal tool — it does not type replacement text. Add new text in another editor afterwards.
FAQ
Can it remove the orange date stamp from scanned film prints?
Yes — date stamps are small and usually sit in a corner, which is ideal. Brush over the digits, including the glow around them.
Does it use OCR to detect text automatically?
No. You mark the text with the brush (or click-to-select for larger shapes). There's no automatic text detection.
